This alocasia has distinctive large arrow shaped leaves, dark green with dark red undersides. Although a little on the needy side this plant isn't too difficult if you're familiar with the alocasia family.
Light: Bright indirect light benefits this plant; direct sunlight will burn the leaves as this plant would be found under the forest canopy. Wentii won't tolerate too much shade.
Water: throughout the warmer months keep the soil moist (not soggy) and mist regularly.
Temperature: Average room temperature is fine, avoid draughts and intermittent sources of heat such as radiators or fires.
Humidity: Wentii requires higher levels of humidity, add a pebble tray, humidifier or group humidity loving plants together. This plant would do well in a bright enough bathroom or kitchen.
Feed: Use a general houseplant fertilizer with iron every four weeks during the spring and summer. No fertilizer is necessary during the winter months when plant growth naturally slows. Only apply fertilizer to damp soil–never dry, as it will burn the roots.
Care Tips: This plant is toxic to both pets and people so care must be taken around pets and small children.
Height & Growth rate: Can reach a height of up to 5 feet with proper care. Relatively fast growing in the warmer months.
Origin: New Guinea
