Dieffenbachia - Dumbcane
This showy plant with its attractive veiny pattered leaves has been a popular houseplant for many years.
Size: Nursery pot 12cm width , height 40cm
Light: This plant likes bright ambient light; direct sun however will scorch the leaves. Given time to adjust this plant can grow under florescent lights
Water: Allow top 2 inches of soil to dry out before watering again, if the soil is too dry for extended periods of time the leaves will brown and droop eventually falling off.
Temperature: Sensitive to cold draughts, the leaves will curl and yellow. Keep in an even temperate environment avoiding fluctuations.
Humidity: A lover of humidity, try adding a pebble try, a humidifier or group similar humidity loving plants together to create their own environment.
Feed: Only during the warmer growing months can fertiliser be used. Dilute to half strength and give monthly.
Care tips: Ensure leaves remain dust free by wiping them with a damp cloth.
This plant is toxic and must be kept away from small hands and paws.
Height & Growth rate: A faster growing species, able to gain up to 2 feet in height in a year ultimately reaching a height of up to 8 ft.
