Echeveria Perle von Nurnberg
Another plant from the ever-popular Echeveria family of succulents. It's beautiful purple/pink colours make this one stand out from the rest of the Crassulaceae family. Whilst it can be grown outdoors and is hardy to -3, this plant gains its popularity from being a house plant.
Size: nursery pot width 9cm, height 12cm.
Light: Preferring bright indirect light, afternoon or early morning sun will be tolerated but too much sun will cause the leaves to burn as glass intensifies the heat from the sun.
Water: Remember this species come for drier desert climates, allow plant to stand in water for a short time to absorb the water it needs and repeat again when dry. Another way to tell if watering is required when using this method is to feel the weight of the pot, dry plants are obviously lighter than a wet plant. Less water is required in colder months as this plant won't like having cold wet "feet".
Temperature: Room temperature is fine, avoiding draughts and fluctuations.
Humidity: No additional humidity is required, the dry air in our homes will suit this plant.
Feed: Dilute liquid fertiliser by half before using fortnightly during the spring and summer, do not feed during colder winter months.
Care tips: Avoid getting the leaves wet if possible, this is why submerging the bottom of the pot in water for a short time is recommended.
Height & Growth rate: The rosettes can span up to 8 inches, one of the faster growing succulents.
Origin: This hybrid hails from Germany.
