Kalanchoe Tomentosa - Panda Plant
Grown for its interesting furry and velvet like leaves this is a fairly easy succulent species to grow at home. Brown tinges at the ends of the leaves give rise to the popular name of the Panda plant.
Size: Nursery pot width 12cm, height 25cm.
Light: Like the rest of the succulent family this plant likes lots of bright light, avoid direct sunlight as sun intensified through a glass window can cause the leaves to burn, early morning or later afternoon sun are fine.
Water: The fleshy leaves store water so this plant will tolerate missing the odd scheduled watering. Only water when the soil is dry and never allow this plant to sit in water, always drain thoroughly before returning to a cover pot. Water less in the winter as this plant won't like having cold wet "feet"
Temperature: Average room temperatures are idea avoiding draughts and any major fluctuations.
Humidity: Again, average room humidity will be fine as this plant tolerates dry air.
Feed: Never feed in the winter but during the spring and summer months a diluted fertiliser every 4 weeks is adequate.
Care tips: Even as a juvenile plant repotting will only be required every other year.
Height & Growth rate: Up to 1.5 ft but this is a slow growing plant
